GRAFTON: Robert U. Benoit Jr., 55, passed July 14, 2012 in the care and love of his family after a courageous battle with cancer. He leaves his loving wife Kathy, his children, Ryan, Colleen, Shannen, his mother Marcella J. Benoit, his granddaughter Kolaiah, many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father Robert Sr. in 1999, his brother Steven P. in 1996, also his beloved pets, Emme, Benji and Gray. He was born October 5, 1956 in Worcester and lived there until moving to Grafton in 1969. Bob attended Grafton High School and then graduated from Blackstone Valley Regional Vocational Technical High School in Upton in 1974 earning certification in Graphic Arts. He began his career in printing and graphic arts with Sweet Life Grocers and The Larkin Group before joining Print Centre in Needham which he then purchased and was CEO until his passing. Bob was also a general contractor in Grafton owning Benoit Construction. He gave generously of his time and talent building homes with The Wayland (MA) to Wayland (MS) Program building homes in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. Bob was a former member of The Saco (ME) Yacht Club and enjoyed vacationing in Old Orchard Beach (ME). He was a former Grafton Firefighter assigned to Engine Co. 2 in North Grafton. Bob also loved golf having scored a hole in one. He was a very social, caring man who truly enjoyed meeting and making new friends and was quick to offer help to anyone in need. The family suggests you honor and remember him with donations to The MSPCA 350 S. Huntington Ave. Boston MA 02130 or The Grafton Food Bank PO Box 324 Grafton MA 01519 in lieu of flowers.
FUNERAL & CALLING HOURS
Funeral Services will be Wednesday July 18th at 11 am at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, 53 N. Main St. North Grafton MA 01536. He will then be laid to rest in Fairview Cemetery in South Grafton. Calling hours are Tuesday July 17th from 5 to 8 pm at THE RONEY FUNERAL HOME 152 Worcester St. North Grafton MA 01536.
