He grew up in Worcester graduating from Boys Trade High School. He met his wife Edith and they were married just before Earl joined the U.S. Navy, serving proudly during World War II in the Pacific theatre. Following the war they started their family in Worcester before moving to Grafton in the early 1950's where they would live happily for many years. Earl worked for many years as a Tool & Dye Maker at Reed & Prince, Millard Engineering and United Tool & Dye before retiring at age 65. Earl and his wife Edith loved to vacation together in New Hampshire by the lake, and those who knew them will remember how they loved to dance. Their children will always remember music playing in their home and Earl and Edith dancing gracefully. Earl and Edith also loved following Grafton's sports teams together. Earl was an outdoorsman, he loved to fish in Maine and Vermont, was a member of the Grafton Rifle Club, The 200 Sportsman's Club, Grafton Fish & Game Club, and Coe's Pond Athletic Club. He also loved to golf with his friends and was a loyal fan of the New York Yankees. In lieu of flowers his family requests memorial donations to Good Samaritan Fund – Trinity Lutheran Church 73 Lancaster St. Worcester, MA 01609.
